I am listening to P4, a Norwegian radio station - LOVE IT:-) It's so weird to listen to Norwegian commercials, but fun too:-) It's really funny to hear all the English mixed in with the Norwegian. Splitter Pine by the Dum Dum Boys is the last song I heard on there, brings back memories from my youth...

OK then. The real reason I decided to write here again so soon, was that I totally spaced what day it was yesterday. It was the anniversary of my little sister, Marita's death. It's been 7 years since we got that terrible phone call in the middle of the night telling us that she was gone. It was a hit and run and they never did find out who did it. Makes me really curious as to what kind of a person can live with themselves knowing what they did to another human being, and they would have had to know that they hit someone, unless they were completely drunk or high on something. She was such a fun person and anyone that was lucky enough to know her loved her. I love her and miss her so much. I believe that it was her time to go, just like I believe it was Jake's time to go when he did, but it doesn't make it any less hard for us that are left behind here on earth. I miss my sister and my son everyday and always will, but knowing that they are together makes me happy:) I love you mamma, Hugo, Mette and Michael, and yeah, I love your crazy families as well;)

I really should be on my elliptical right now instead of on the computer, but I figured that I haven't written here for a few days, so what the heck.

The weekend ended way too soon, again. Derick left late on Thursday afternoon. I seriously hate sleeping alone so I was awake until after midnight, and I thought I'd be in trouble since I was driving by myself to St.George the next day, but I ended up being OK:-) McCall came home from school on Thursday and I took one look at him and could tell he wasn't feeling good. Of course, he didn't admit to that, but a little while after Derick left I felt his forehead and sure enough, he was warm. So typical that that would happen when I was leaving the next day! I didn't know if I would be able to take off the next day, but he woke up Friday morning and said that he was feeling fine, so I let him go to school and told him to call me if he didn't feel good. I never heard from him so I left. The kids spent the weekend with their grandpa Doug and grandma Carol, and as far as I can tell they had a great time and are excited to do it again:-)

It was so nice down in St.George, the weather was perfect and I wish it would be like that here all winter. When I create my own island that's how it'll be most of the time, maybe a little warmer in the summer months:) Wishful thinking...

I had all of Saturday to myself, and I loved it! It would have been nice to see more of Derick, but I did get to spend Saturday night and all of Sunday with him, even if most of it was in the car going home:) I think he had a good time doing the Ragnar relay race in Vegas. His toe doesn't look too good, but that's what you get when you buy new running shoes once in a blue moon. Maybe he'll just start doing what his cousin Kim does. She runs marathons bare feet! Nah, he's not that die hard athlete, so maybe not:) I am impressed with him for doing this, it takes a lot of work and discipline to run, in my humble opinion, so I have to give it to him for doing it:) I love you, Derick!

When you're gone from your kids for a few days it's always great to see them again. It's so nice to have family that can help out once in awhile. Thanks for taking them over the weekend, Doug and Carol!

Oh crap! I just realized that I need to clean out my freezer and make room for the chicken that is coming today! Guess we'll have something to do with chicken for dinner tonight:)

It's been incredibly nice having my kids out of school for a couple of days, it makes me long for summer... But, since that's far away still I'll have to look forward to December when they are out for a while:)

Zane's count down to Miles' birthday party on Saturday ended, and he had a great time. Doesn't take much to keep that boy happy(most of the time). The rest of Saturday was great, spending time with people you love is the best!

Since I'm done with my hcg diet I could start exercising on my elliptical on Saturday, and boy did I pay for it yesterday! My back hurt like no other and I didn't get why until Derick suggested that I had probably strained it a little on Saturday. The life of pathetic me when I start doing stuff my body is not used too. Hopefully it will be gone fast and soon, I'm not a very patient person. I LOVE the way I feel when I'm done, and that's why I'll continue.

Yesterday it was my brother-in law Mike's birthday. We went over there last night for cake and ice cream. The kids had a lot of fun playing with their cousin, Nik. They were running around all over the house playing some sort of hide and seek. One time Nik hid in the bathroom and Zane came knocking on the door. Nik asked who it was and Zane said 'Jesus.' He answered and said I know that's not right, so Zane said he was a lamanite. Nik told him he'd definitely not open the door if that was the case, so Zane said no, actually it's Nephi. If you are not LDS this won't make any sense to you whatsoever, but it is pretty funny:) My niece, Kristine moved down to Provo at the beginning of the school year, but she comes home on the weekends. When she left, Nik got her old room downstairs, so Kristine has his old room on the weekends. I guess Zane was not aware of this(oblivious as he is) so yesterday he went in there unawares as to who's stuff was everywhere and he told Nik that he had made it a wasteland! Funny, funny, funny:-) By the way, Kristine and Brenton has made it official - they are engaged! I am so happy for them! The big day is in March, so that is when I get to see my mom again:) Her ring is beautiful and they make a pretty couple:) I wish them all the best. I love you!

Derick is doing his relay race this weekend in Las Vegas, but I'm not sure anymore if I'm going or not. We will know later today. Personally I'm not that big a fan of Vegas, so I won't be too sad if I'm not going. But spending time alone with Derick would be awesome. Guess we'll wait and see:)

I really hate it when I wake up with a headache! That's what I get though when I cry a lot before going to bed. These last couple of days have been hard on me for some reason and I've been crying a lot. Finally last night Derick and I were talking about it and I just couldn't stop. Usually I feel a lot better after having a good cry, but how can you feel good about not having your baby with you? Now I'm crying again so I need to think about something nicer.

The kids are out of school the rest of the week, YEAH! McCall has been kind of slacking with his school work, so he has to make up some work at home, but don't think it'll be too bad since he has these extra days off. He just needs to finish his work and then actually turn it in to get credit for it, imagine that, huh:) Zane is still loving school, but who wouldn't in kindergarten? I went and helped out in his classroom on Monday, and they are so much fun! They all just look at you and listen to you with these big eyes and are so eager to learn. I love it:-) (Don't love it enough to be a kindergarten teacher, though - no way!)

Our visit to the dentist last Friday went good. We are all cavity free, woohoo! We went and did some errands after and then to the Potter's. A little over 4 hours later I told the kids it was time to leave and McCall popped off with us 'only' having been there for 5 minutes! The Potter's are coming here to spend the day with us today, so I guess that's a good thing since they only get 5 minutes at a time;-)

Zane is SO excited to go to his friend Miles' birthday party on Saturday. Everyday he tells me how many days are left. They can dress up as a super hero if they want and he has already decided and changed his mind a couple of times. Having birthday parties for kids can be stressful and a lot of work, but it's soooo worth it when you see what a kick they get out of it. They only have one childhood, so why not?

Yeah, I know, mamma. I was supposed to post some pictures on here again! Sorry, I will do it, just not promising when:)

It's Monday again. Had a really nice and relaxing weekend with my family. On Saturday I went shopping with my kids, sister and niece. Got a couple of Christmas presents, even with the kids there! They had no idea what I did:) Of course, we had to go to Costco while we were down in Orem, so the kids got ice cream there. McCall had one of their yummy gelato's and Zane had just a regular vanilla yogurt. I missed Jake right then(not that I don't at other times too)but I missed him because he and Zane always shared the ice cream since it's too big for one kid(or an adult for that matter). It's hard not hugging and kissing him everyday. Please, please, hug and kiss your kids and tell them you love them everyday! Show them that you love them too by spending time with them and listening to what they have to tell you. They grow up so fast. I used to be impatient and wanting them to grow up, and now all I want is to slow it down. Enjoy all the time you have with them, even if it's doing chores or homework or whatever - just enjoy them!

This diet I'm on is kicking my butt this time and I'm HATING it! Everything sounds and looks good to me, and I mean EVERYTHING! My sister was making fun of me on Saturday because of it. But I have to say it makes you feel really awesome, which is why I'm sticking with it until I'm done and that's in 11 days...

The kids and I are going to the dentist on Friday. Derick was supposed to come with, but he had to re-schedule because of work. I didn't get quite the response I wanted from McCall and Zane when I told them where we are going on Friday. I thought they'd be happy to skip a day of school, but I guess they'd rather go to school then the dentist - go figure:-) The dentist we go to is down in Salt Lake, which is why they would be out all day. I figure since we are down in the 'big city' we might as well do some other stuff and not rush back home.

Since it's October and the month of Halloween, I guess I should put up some decorations. The kids want us to buy scary decorations, but I'm not into that, so that's something they have to do when they are old enough to buy it themselves. I love the smell this time of year brings with it. Cinnamon, apples, caramel, ginger, mmmm:) Yeah, it's time for my diet to be over so I don't just have to smell all these wonderful things but I can eat some of it too;-)
