This last weekend was a lot of fun. We didn't do anything 'spectacular' - we just had the family over for a B-B-Q. I love it when we all get together like that. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, yummy pasta salad that Doug and Carol made, watermelon, chips and dip and this recipe for cowboy salsa that my friend Shayla gave me. I made ice cream cake like I did for McCall's birthday, and I wish I had made 2 this time as well. It's just not fun when all you can serve people is a sliver. Live and learn, right?

Sunday was Father's Day, so happy belated to all you dad's:) We did our regular thing, went to church, came home, took a nap. Just the way Sunday's are supposed to be:) It rained a little during the day, but cleared up enough for us to go for a nice long walk later in the day.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my car is fixed! Derick's dad and step brother Tony came up on Friday and fixed it, it was the fuel pump. Thank you, thank you, thank you!:) Now I can get around and do stuff during the day instead of having to wait for Derick to come home and chauffeur me everywhere I need to go, much to both of our relief;-}

Today is Zane's birthday! Happy birthday to you !!! Gratulerer med dagen! He is 6! I remember my Dr. told us that if he was going to deliver him he had to be born before 6pm, because he had a church function to go to! And he was born with 30 minutes to spare:) We were so happy when we brought him home, and it was so nice that he was born in the summer cause we were able to take him for walks and go to the park with McCall and him. We lived in Derick's aunt & uncle's basement at the time, we didn't move in to our house until Zane was 6 months old. And let me tell you, it is dang hard to try and fix a house to be livable when you have a baby to take care of. I guess our house wasn't as bad as a lot of others, but we still needed to clean and paint and do all that fun stuff:)

I think I might have gone a little crazy... Zane is having a party with friends today and the total number of kids that are invited is 10!!! What the heck was I thinking??? It just kind of spiraled out of control, cause I didn't want to leave anyone out, but like I said before, they are kids only once, so I am OK with it. It's only for a couple of hours. Amanda is going to come over and help out, so I am glad for that. Nik might even come, if he doesn't have anything better to do;-)

I still need to make the cup cakes and frosting and make the treasure map and decorate, and, and, and.... which is why I need to tear myself away from this computer. I will post some pictures later of all the madness, that is if I am still sane;-} He is having a pirate party, I think it will be cute, only time will tell:)

It's my birthday today - woohoo! I was just telling Derick the other day how it is that my birthday's started to become less fun after I turned 20. I remember looking forward to it sooooo much and counting down to it and to be another year older. Now, I really wish I could reverse time and be 25 again, but to have the life I have right now. I do appreciate the wisdom that comes with age though, so it's probably a good thing I'm not stuck being 25 forever:) After my kids were born I look forward to their birthdays more than mine. It's just so fun to count down the days with them and trying to figure out what they would like for their birthday and planning their party and having the whole family over for a celebration. Yes, it's a lot of work, but it's SO worth it. They are kids only once, and doing things like this doesn't have to cost a lot of money cause they are usually fine with just having some friends over and playing some games and eating cake and ice cream. At least that's just what we do.

Derick ran the Utah Valley Marathon today. Crazy guy that he is;-} He just got home and he looks a little tired, but I don't think it's as bad as it was when he ran his first marathon 7 years ago. Why people would do this I don't think I'll ever understand, but if it makes you happy, go for it:) As long as I don't have to...

I guess I should go and get my hair done. My sister is going to come and pick me up in a little bit, we are going shopping!:)

I love my husband, I love my kids, I love my family, I love my friends, I love my life!:)

Doing a little dance:)

Making a funny face while singing a song that

reminded them what sounds each of the letters make.

Getting his 'diploma' :)

Zane and his teacher, Mrs.Kohler.

Zane's kindergarten graduation! Here he is with one of his friends from both school and church.

It is June 2nd already! Time flies waaaaaaay too fast. Yesterday I went to the zoo with Zane and his kindergarten class. It was actually not too bad, even though it was incredibly crowded. It was a perfect day to be there - not too hot, not too cold, and overcast. Zane also had his first T-ball game and that was very entertaining:) He will play every Monday and Wednesday throughout June, and it made me happy that it's during the week, no Saturdays. I just dread it when the kids play on Saturday mornings for some reason, so this is just perfect:) Today is said child's kindergarten graduation! He is not a kindergartner any more after today! I keep looking at him, wondering where the heck these last 6 years have gone. This fall he will be in school all day long, and then what do I do? I will be right there in his class room volunteering, that's what I'll do:) And McCall, well, I can't believe this either, but he will be taking the buss over to Heber to Timpanogos Intermediate School, or TIS for short. My boys will never be in the same school again! They are both growing like weeds, and I love them so much! Guess I was feeling a little nostalgic there for a minute, but enjoy your kids, they grow without you realizing it sometimes.

On another note, we got ourselves a new car on Tuesday!:) It is a 2008 VW Jetta. What color you may ask? White! I swear we are doomed to just having either white or red cars, and we are soooo tired of it, but, the price was right and we were in dire need of a new car. The only problem is that I can't drive it yet cause it's a stick, but we will be working on that:)

Derick has been enjoying staying at home this last week, and he told me that it's going to be tough going back to work next week. I think it will be nice for him to start something new, even if it is pretty much like what he has been doing. He has been doing things around the house that tend to get neglected, but because he is home, I 'forget' my chores, such as laundry, which is why it is piled pretty high and is something I need to tackle today:)

Glad i deg:)
