I forgot my camera at my in laws on Sunday, and I just got it back today cause my father in law came up, and brought it with him. So now I have posted all the pictures from December, which include our trip to Temple square and also a couple random pictures of McCall and Zane. The one of Zane eating is on here because he is eating his favorite food - hot wings. These aren't mild ones either, they are SPICY! He must get that from his grandpa Doug and his dad, they both like it hot:)

After all the anticipation and preparing for Christmas, it is already over! We get ready for it for so long that it's almost a let down when it's finally here. It was great though. Mette, Mike and Amanda came over for dinner on the 23rd. Nik worked unfortunately. On Christmas Eve we went to our friends the Potter's. It has been a tradition ever since we got married to spend Christmas with them, if they are in town:) and it's a great tradition that we all look forward to. Christmas Day was on a Sunday this year, and we didn't know if we would open presents before going to church or wait until we got home, since our church started at 9. But, McCall woke up at 6:30, and we had him wait until 7 to wake Zane, and then we opened gifts. The kids were really good about waiting until after church to hook up their PS3. That was the big item of the year from mom and dad:) I am so glad that with all the commercialism of Christmas, our kids know the real reason behind this very special holiday. It's fun to know that they believe in Santa, and have hopes and dreams of what he will bring them on Christmas morning, after all that is a huge part of the fun of having kids. But, having that said - it is also great that they are fully aware of the Savior's birth and that without that so very important reason, nothing else matters. As parents, it is our responsibility to teach our kids the true meaning of Christmas and also of everyday life. Christmas is so much more fun because of our kids, and a part of that is the innocent belief that they have.

Tomorrow is the last day of the year - WOW! 2011 brought about new things for our family, and hopefully 2012 will be even better:)! We are so very blessed, and although everyday life can become hectic, we are so grateful for all of our family and friends. Life is such a treasure. We miss Jake every single day, and we talk about him a lot. So grateful to know that I will always be his mommy, and that we can be together as a family again someday.

May the new year turn out to be a GREAT year for everyone!
